I hope that at least some of you find this video as interesting as I did. However, if nothing else, you can enjoy the sights of a Pagani Huayra, 2 LaFerraris, 250 GT/L Lusso, 2 Enzos, Maserati MC12 Corsa, and XJ220, among others.

I gave this a brief watch over my lunch hour. Really neat idea, wish the lower end car salesman could have made a sale! He really seems to have the personality and gift of gab, just needs more time to acquaint himself with a different clientele.
Makes me wonder how I would fair myself. Extensive knowledge, exciting and willing to listen. Problem is, not all customers are the wonderful types you hope for. Maybe later on in life....

I couldn't agree more. He really did seem to be a genuinely nice guy. As you mentioned, if given the time to learn the facts about each of the cars and understand the cliental better, I'm sure he would be successful.
Very true. I've known of a few individuals who are very nice and easy to get along with but when presented with an opportunity for negotiation become absolutely menacing.

I really want an Enzo
I think they've nearly doubled in price in the last year so now it's even more impossible to buy

They are terrific vehicles. In fact, unlike many, I actually have always loved its styling.

Buyer and dealer, you never know what type of day it will be. In my own experience shopping BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Ford and Subaru dealers, Nissan and Subaru have been the worst by far.
Nissan only let me drive a used 370Z Nismo around the parking lot . They lost a sale needless to say and I went on to look at S2000/GT86s before purchasing the FR-S. I have been doing more and more Porsche research these past few months and checking out used inventories and dealers I might want to work with. The dealer 10 miles from my house had no interest even speaking with someone my age it seemed (26). Treated me like some schmuck who knew nothing about cars and declined to offer a test drive.
The other Pcar dealer near my work treated me like a real customer, offering all their knowledge and helping answer my questions and concerns. So, I at least know where to start next summer!

Me too! I never thought it was ugly. So much better looking than the F50

well considering that you are the only one on here with a McLaren, I say there is some significant interest.

This is unfortunately very true. I remember back in 2008 when I bought my GT-R that the experience was actually very pleasant as the salesman was a retired Air Force pilot and very polite and responsive. (Maybe that's just because I'm old.) However, I heard a few horror stories of Nissan salesmen not knowing how to deal with higher end buyers. In addition, a certain Ferrari dealer in central Texas and I are not on speaking terms.
Age discrimination is something that I have never understood but especially in this modern age. I mean look at how many millionaires are under 30 years old these days.
I'm glad you were able to find a dealer that respects you. I've been lucky to always deal with excellent people at Park Place Porsche here in Dallas.

I still have a soft spot for the GT-R and one dealer has not soured the entire brand. The SF Bay is an area where young folks often have surprising wealth, and I think most dealers are aware of that.
Generally I approach with an open mind, letting the dealer do their bit and I am honest with my intentions, timeline, etc. If something doesn't add up, they know they have lost my business and vote of confidence.
The BMW dealer where my gf ordered (twice) her 228i has been nothing short of outstanding. We still stop by when we are in the area to mingle with the salesman. He also has both our cell phones to secure a deposit if/when the 2M CSL becomes more than vaporware ;)

I do as well. I can still remember driving mine around (I was one of the early adopters in '08) and being bombarded by youngster who knew all about it and then other folks who had no idea what it was at all.
That's a good strategy. Openness is always the best method for both parties to achieve a mutually favorable outcome.
That's terrific to hear. I have a similar relationship with my Porsche dealer as they called me whenever a 918 came in so that I could look at it. After seeing them in the flesh, I'm actually a bit disappointed I didn't order.
Let's hope the 2M comes to fruition.
